What You Need To Know About The Death Of Soap In COD: MW3

1 years ago By AI Smith

COD enthusiasts are ecstatic to learn that COD: MW3 will be published on November 10, 2023. Pre-orders get early access to the game, which will be available on Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. However, the campaign is the only time that this exclusive early access is offered. And so many of the story’s essential details are known beforehand. One such instance is the demise of Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish in Modern Warfare 3.

Many players like the original storyline of the Modern Warfare series. Activision is hoping that the new series will bring about the same outcome this time around. The plot revolves around Soap’s death, which is significant, and some players are curious about how he passed away. And we will talk about that in the paragraphs that follow.

How does Soap Die in COD Modern Warfare 3 (MW3)?

It is as though the authors of COD are determined to see Soap suffer and ultimately perish. Soap was close to death in the first MW as well. Players expected better things from the developers with this remake, such as genuine character development and a compelling plot, which they got up until Soap was killed off unceremoniously in Mass Effect 3.

In essence, what occurred was that Makarov got hold of a flash drive that gave him control over the UK train system. He then made preparations to lay a bomb that would destroy the Channel Tunnel. When Task Force 141 finds out about this, they decide to keep going after Makarov. You and Soap, pretending to be Price, engage in combat and dispatch several Konni Group fighters. Eventually, though, you run into another group of Konni Group agents, this time manning a device that has begun to countdown to detonation.

In an attempt to disarm the device, Price and a few other 141 members battle their way past those operatives. On the other hand, numerous 141s are KIA due to ongoing Konni fires. Furthermore, Makarov ambushes and shoots Soap just as you and Soap are ready to cut the red wire of the explosive. Then he steps up to shoot Price, but Soap steps in and tries to take down Makarov instead.

After a brief moment of hesitation, the Russian manages to overwhelm Soap and shoots him in the head, killing him and leaving the players feeling deeply bereaved. When Gaz and Ghost eventually show there with further help, Makarov makes his usual getaway. After that, Price and Gaz were able to defuse the device, which put an end to Trojan Horse/Countdown, the game’s last task. Later, as they bid a friend farewell for the last time, Price, Gaz, and Ghost disperse Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish’s ash down a Scottish cliff.

A beloved character from the first three Call of Duty games has passed away, and some fans are grieving. Though its intense multiplayer is arguably the Call of Duty series’ most well-known feature, the game also features some incredibly memorable campaigns. Since the early Black Ops games and the Modern Warfare trilogy were released while Call of Duty was at its peak, fans are likely to be most familiar with their narrative. You could always be drawn in by the gameplay and the plot in the first three Modern Warfare games because they were the ideal balance of exaggerated action and drama. A few significant deaths from both heroes and villains gave the trilogy even more impact.

It’s been a little difficult for the recently revived Modern Warfare series to kill off characters. Many of the individuals who “died” have returned in different forms; one such character is Zakhaev’s kid, who was pushed under a missile silo and is now resurfacing in the Zombies narrative. But it looks like a few of the most cherished characters from the first series are forever gone in Modern Warfare 3. Fans are even more devastated because, ironically, they are characters who perished in the first games as well.

Soap and General Shepherd are the two worst casualties in Modern Warfare 3.  In a cutscene that occurs after the credits, Captain Price kills the latter, accusing him of failing to kill Makarov, which led to Soap’s eventual demise. But, it’s Soap himself who is causing the most pain. His remarkable rapport with Ghost made him a fan favorite when he was suitably reintroduced in Modern Warfare 2 last year. A spin-off featuring only those two characters was even requested by some as a result of this.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear probable that this will occur. At the conclusion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Makarov kills Soap after Soap attempts to stop Price from being executed. Task Force 141 arranges for Soap to be cremated and given a funeral after Makarov shoots him in the head. It goes without saying that Makarov also killed the character in the first Modern Warfare 3 when he was blown out of a clock tower and there was nothing left to save him. Some fans contend that because the first game’s handling of his death was more emotional, it was handled better. Neil Ellice, who plays Soap, expressed gratitude to the public for their support while he was in the role.

Activision publishes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, a first-person shooter video game from Sledgehammer Games, which was released in 2023. It is the third game in the revived Modern Warfare subseries and the twentieth in the Call of Duty series. It is the direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, which was released in 2022. On November 10, 2023, the game was officially launched on Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 4.

The plot of the subseries is carried out in Modern Warfare III while maintaining the realistic, contemporary environment of its predecessors. The narrative centers on the pursuit of Vladimir Makarov, a terrorist and ultranationalist from Russia who is plotting to start a third World War, by the multinational special operations organization Task Force 141. In addition to 16 remastered base maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), the multiplayer mode of the game will feature additional maps after launch. Included is a player versus environment experience in an open-world zombie mode.
