What is Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo Switch is a video game console that was first released in 2017. The Switch is Nintendo’s seventh significant console, which received a huge success after its launch due to its advance and up-to-date features.
The Nintendo Switch was first thought of after the Wii U faced a disappointing launch. As Nintendo’s sales were declining, the company was in dire need of a product that would turn out to be a game changer for them. Nintendo did not want to repeat the mistake of rehashing old material (what they did with Wii U) and hence developed a new product with a completely new experience.
While designing the Nintendo Switch, their main aim was to produce a gaming console that was compatible for casual play of fun video games as well as longer-term playing games with deeper commitment. Nintendo also wanted the device to be flexible in terms of playing along and playing with friends.
Yoshiaki Koizumi, who played the crucial role in assembling the Switch’s hardware development team, tried and tested several combinations of developers, each having their respective areas of expertise. Koizumi wanted the team responsible for designing the console to be pros in multiple disciplines along with experience.
Finally, the hardware that the team designed perfectly captured the adaptable objective. Nintendo Switch console is supported by a battery-powered tablet that has haptic and multi-touch features. The controlling accessories can be dismantled and locked on either side of the tablet. It can also be combined to give the feel of a traditional controller.
Nintendo Switch gaming console primarily works best as a home gaming console, however, it was initially devised to be a hybrid machine. It can be used as a standalone unit to be held in the hands or can be placed on a tabletop, propped up with its kickstand. It can also be plugged into its docking station or connect it to aTV.
