League of Legends Worlds 2023 Play-Ins Standings, Points Table, Results Till October 12

League of Legends (LoL) World Championship or League of Legends Worlds 2023 has been an exhilarating ride for many players competing in it. The League of Legends Worlds is one of the biggest if not the biggest esports event in the world.

Many have hailed it as a trail blazer for modern day esports, as it set the stage for many esports tournaments with regards to its prize pool, hype, and sheer magnitude. As of now, the 2023 League of Leagues Worlds are being played out in the Play-Ins stage at the LoL Arena in Seoul.

After delivering a crushing defeat to Golden Guardians on Monday (9th October), Team BDS now joins the eight teams heading aiming for the title spot. Among these includes esport teams like PSG Talon, GAM Esports, LOUD, and many more. In six days, the first eight teams that make it will battle for the final two spots in the Grand Finals.

The two teams will go head-to-head in a grand showdown on the Main Event Swiss stage. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the teams will start with the best-of-three action and then will move on to the ‘Do-or-Die’ lower bracket clashes midway through the week. It will then end with two best-of-five (Bo5) qualifying matches.

Worlds 2023: Play-Ins Standings

The Play-Ins Stage of the Worlds 2023 started on 10th October 2023. On day one of the event, viewers were able to witness the first penta kill of the tournament which was delivered by LOUD’s Route. LOUD then sealed their victory with a 2-0 win. PSG Talon also made it and the two teams will compete against each other in the second round of Bracket A. On 11th October 2023, Team BDS lost to Team Whales while CTBC Flying Oyster won their match against DetonatioN FocusMe.

On 12th October, the four teams went head-to-head in the upper bracket clashes. However, Brazilian team LOUD were not able to make it and lost to PSG Talon with a 2-0 score. In the CFO vs Team Whale match, it was an intense battle but Vietnamese Team Whale made the cut. This means that from the upper bracket clashes it was PSG and Team Whale that made it.

Worlds 2023: Full Play-In Stage Scores and Schedule

The fierce battle between the teams resulted in some intense moments. With so much going on, it may be a little difficult to keep up with the scores and eliminations. Below we’ll be listing out the entire schedule and the Play-In stage scores so far. The first stage of the championship will run till 15th October.

How do Play-Ins work at Worlds 2023?

When it comes to Worlds 2023, Play-Ins are like a mini-qualifier for the minor League regions in the world. There are eight teams from the League regions. These teams are PCS (Asis-Pacific), LJL (Japan), CBLOL (Brazil), VCS (Vietnam), LLA (Latin America), and the WQS. These teams will compete for the two spots in the main event which will be held next week.

As of now, the teams are sorted into two double-elimination brackets that will consists of four teams each. The two best teams from each bracket will then enter a best of five (Bo5) qualifiers. Out of this, the two Bo5 winners will then head to the world’s major league representatives in the Swiss stage.

Where to watch the League of Legends Worlds 2023 Play-In Stage?

For those with a Riot Games Account, you will be able to tune into the Play-In Stage via Riot’s official League esports site. You can connect your Riot account to your Twitch account and watch it. Doing so will also enable drops to your account which means that you can get different League rewards just by viewing the tournament.
