The semi-final match of LoL Esports Asian Games 2022 has kept all players on the edge of their seats, South Korea emerged victorious over their arch-rivals, China, in a thrilling semi-final clash at the LoL 2022 Asian Games.

With this stunning victory, South Korea has earned their place in the highly coveted LoL Asian Games 2022 Grand Finals, setting the stage for an epic battle for supremacy in the realm of League of Legends.

The clash between South Korea and China was a much-anticipated spectacle, with both teams boasting an all-star roster of players from the prestigious LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea) and LPL (League of Legends Pro League).

The encounter was laden with history, as it marked a rematch of the 2018 Asian Games final, a contest that saw China emerge triumphant and secure the gold medal.

However, this time, the script was flipped as South Korea exacted sweet revenge with a commanding 2-0 victory over their fierce rivals. Despite the conspicuous absence of the legendary Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, who had been a cornerstone of South Korea’s success for years, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon admirably stepped into the mid-lane role and displayed remarkable finesse.

The opening game witnessed a closely contested laning phase, with both teams refusing to yield an inch. However, as the match unfolded, South Korea’s impeccable coordination in team fights began to tip the scales in their favor. This precise teamwork allowed them to secure a significant advantage. The first game concluded in a brisk 29 minutes and 25 seconds, with South Korea tallying an impressive 12 eliminations and amassing a nearly 8,000-gold lead.

The second game saw China gaining the upper hand in the early stages. Yet, South Korea countered China’s emphasis on objectives with strategic finesse, enabling them to engineer a remarkable comeback.

Despite facing adversity in several intense team fights and losing multiple objectives, South Korea steadily chipped away at China’s defenses, accumulating a substantial gold lead and eliminations over time.

The second game was a more prolonged battle, taking 36 minutes and 36 seconds before South Korea finally toppled China’s Nexus. South Korea’s dominance was once again apparent, with an almost 8,000-gold lead, 18 eliminations, and a more extensive collection of objectives.

China’s next challenge will involve facing the loser of the Taipei vs. Vietnam match, as they vie for a respectable third-place finish. Meanwhile, South Korea eagerly anticipates their impending showdown against the victor of that match, as they set their sights on the ultimate prize—the gold medal.

This thrilling victory cements South Korea’s reputation as a dominant force in the world of esports, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the climactic grand finals. It also marks a significant chapter in the storied rivalry between South Korea and China in the realm of competitive gaming, adding another layer of intensity to this high-stakes competition.
