For the FC Online esports competition, formerly known as FIFA Online 4, at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, India sent a two-person team. The China Hangzhou Esports Centre served as the venue for all esports events.

The Asian Games 2023 FC Online contests are set to run from September 24 to September 27, but India’s campaign was cut short on the first day. Karman Singh’s campaign came to an end in round two of the losers’ bracket, while Charanjot Singh advanced to round four.

Esports made its official debut as a medal sport at Hangzhou 2023 after appearing as a demonstration sport at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018.

Seven esports medal competitions are planned for Hangzhou, including FC Online 4, Dota 2, League of Legends, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Arena of Valor Asian Games Version, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, and Peace Elite Asian Games Version (also known as PUBG Mobile). India is one of the top four.

EA Sports created the online football game FC Online. Its official name is FC 24 by EA Sports.

Karman Singh Tikka and Charanjot Singh both began their Asian Games 2023 campaigns in the Round of 32.

With the exception of the championship match and qualifying round, the FC 24 event uses a double elimination format, which means a player may only be eliminated after losing two ties.

The 16 Round of 32 winners move into the winners’ bracket and compete against one another there until a winner from the bracket is decided following the winners’ bracket final.

The losers’ bracket is comprised of the 16 losing teams from the Round of 32.

Every other round (2, 4 and 6) the losers from the winners’ bracket will continue to move down to the losers’ bracket to compete against the teams moving on from earlier rounds. The losers’ bracket final will feature the victor of the losers’ bracket round 7 and the loser of the winners’ bracket final.

The losing team from the losers’ bracket final will be awarded the bronze medal, while the winning team will advance to the grand final and compete for the gold medal against the eventual winner of the winners’ bracket. At the Asian Games in 2023, all matches in the FC Online competition will be decided by a best-of-three series.

A total of 36 esports competitors from 21 nations are taking part at the Asian Games 2023 FC Online event.
