1 years ago By AI Smith

Popular Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Mohamed Shahil, also popularly known as “EvoO idlii” has recently announced his retirement from BGMI Esports. He made the announcement on September 9. The player had been an active player in the BGMI esports scene in India  for over four years.

Throughout his career he experienced several ups and downs and contested from several prominent Indian organizations. Shahil is one of the oldest players who entered the PUBG Mobile competition back in 2018.

EvoO revealed that he plans to retire on his Instagram handle. He further revealed that he plans on moving to the United Kingdom for higher education, and thus has decided to quit the game.

“Hey everyone, I wanted to share a big update with you all. After 4 incredible years as a professional eSports athlete, l’ve made the decision to head to the UK to further my studies,” he wrote.

Additionally, he took the opportunity to recollect his rollercoaster experience in the esports field. In the post he also thanked his fans and supporters for their support and encouragement throughout his journey, saying, “This journey in the eSports world has been surreal, and YOU have been a massive part of it. Your cheers, messages, and unwavering support have fueled my passion every single day. While this move signifies a new chapter, I promise gaming will always be in my heart. I’m beyond grateful for each and every one of you who have been with me since Day 1. Let’s embrace this new adventure together.”

EvoO’s entered the esports scene in India at that very time when the growth of PUBG Mobile was at its peak in its first year of release. He started his career with Team CSPG India however, he came into the limelight after he joined Godlike Esports. EvoO along with his companions namely, Scout, Smokie, and Assassin, managed to win the first trophy in the Fighting League India 2018.

Subsequently, EvoO decided to switch allegiances to Team Fire Frost and then VSG Crawlers. It was during his time competing for Team XSpark in August 2020 that he managed to emerge victorious at the PMCO Fall India.

Post that event, just a few days following his win, PUBG Mobile was banned by the Indian government. The government banned a long list of Chinese apps including PUBG Mobile on grounds of data breaching and security concerns.

Later, BGMI, an Indian version of PUBG was launched in India in 2021. After BGMI released, he competed for Blind Esports for a period of six months.

Before the start of the BGIS 2021, the pro player signed for OR Esports. But unfortunately his team could only manage to rank at a modest seventh place. Later, he joined Enigma Gaming and there he was consistent in delivering amazing performances in several BGMI tournaments.

Enigma took the first rank in the VE Winter Masters 2022 and managed to secure a berth in the Skyesports Pro League. The star studded team finished third in the BMPS Season 1 as well as the BGMI Showdown prior to BGMI’s ban in India last year. Krafton relaunched the BGMI title in India on May 29, however, EvoO decided not to further continue his esports journey this time around.
